Ten things to do before I die. Top must see tourist attractions. To do lists that go on for miles. The Ultimate 2017 Bucketlist search has become increasingly popular in recent months, with more and more people planning to tick things off their lists year after year. My bucket list has grown significantly in the past two years, especially since I became a travel blogger! There’s so much wanderlust out there it’s unreal; every country, every city and every town in the world offers something for everyone and there are millions of places just waiting to be discovered. My bucket list is sky high at the mo, there’s so much I want to see and do, and I want to conquer my biggest challenge yet – visiting 25 countries before I turn 25! Here’s my Top 10 Bucket List items for 2017…
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #1 Swim With Dolphins In Florida
This has been on my bucket list ever since I can remember. As a little girl, I dreamt about visiting Florida with my family, doing the Disney Parks and swimming with dolphins at Sea World. I was lucky enough to visit Florida for a week this summer, but didn’t have chance to swim with my favourite animals, so this one is remaining firmly on the bucket list. I’m not sure if I’ll get the chance to return to Florida in 2017, but I’m hoping I will do again one day soon!
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #2 Drive Australia’s Great Ocean Road
Australia is somewhere I have wanted to visit for ages, and even more so after I became friends with sooo many Aussies on my American adventure this summer. I’d love to drive the Great Ocean Road just for the scenery, I’ve heard it’s incredible and is a great way to explore different parts of Australia. I also want to spend time in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, and I’m really hoping 2017 is the year that allows me to do this amazing trip!
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #3 See the Northern Lights
I had the chance to see the Northern Lights when I was in Iceland back in November 2014, but unfortunately the weather was too bad to see them during my stay – gutted!! It doesn’t matter where I see them from, I think every travel lover would jump at the chance to see the Northern Lights, but I’d like to try somewhere new like Finland or Norway next time!
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #4 Interrail round Europe
I was going to do this in 2016, but then my American adventure came along and I road tripped from LA to NYC instead! Interrailing around Europe is something I have ALWAYS wanted to do though, and I am confident that 2017 will be the year to do it. I’ve already started attempting to plan my route, and I’m looking at hitting up Germany, Sweden, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland and Latvia to name but a few! Interrailing would be a great opportunity for me to tick off as many countries as possible in a short amount of time, and would really help me to complete my 25: 25 challenge!
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #5 Stay at a marina hotel in Dubai
So, if I get the chance to go to Australia, this will definitely be happening! I’ve always dreamt about staying at The Atlantis Resort in Dubai, so that would be incredible, but I will never ever be able to afford a room there, so if I can stay in a hotel on the glittering marina then I’ll be a happy bunny! Dubai isn’t somewhere I’m instantly attracted to – I don’t think I would cope very well with the heat – but I think it’s one of those places I just want to go to for a night or two, just to say I’ve been there! Plus If I’m passing by on the way to Australia it would be rude not to stop off at Dubai, right?!
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #6 Go to Disneyland Paris at Halloween
Ahhh my favourite place in the whole world! For me, nowhere compares to Disneyland Paris, it’s my magical happy place and I fall in love with it even more each time I visit! I’ve been to DLP three times, once for Bonfire celebrations and twice for the Christmas seasons, but I have ALWAYS wanted to go at Halloween as the parks transform into a villain’s retreat and the character interactions are always stepped up a gear! It’s not difficult for me to hop on the Eurostar in London so I’m making sure this bucket list item is well and truly ticked off in 2017
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #7 Be in Edinburgh for Hogmanay (New Years Celebrations)
I LOVE celebrating NYE somewhere special, I think there’s just something about wanting to see in the new year in style at a great location. In previous years I’ve spent NYE in London, Essex and Liverpool, but this year will be seeing 2017 in from the St Ives harbour down in Cornwall, and I’m so excited! Next year I’d love to be in Edinburgh to soak up the festive spirit and celebrate properly with the fantastic Hogmanay festival.
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #8 Climb to the top of The Shard in London
Something which is so easy for me to do, but I just haven’t had chance to do it yet! Climbing one of the tallest buildings in Europe is high up there on my bucket list and I am 100% going to make sure this happens in 2017!
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #9 Taste Swiss chocolate in Geneva
It’s no secret that Switzerland is the home of mouth wateringly good chocolate, so it’s only right that I should head to the beautiful city of Geneva to get my hands on some of the goods! Geneva is somewhere I have wanted to visit in recent months, and it looks like I’ll be heading there in 2017 after I recently won free return flights with low cost airline Jet 2! I can choose from a variety of different destinations and travel between April and November next year, but Geneva is my first choice so fingers crossed I’ll be there before I know it!
The Ultimate 2017 Travel Bucketlist #10 Do a girls holiday to Tenerife
Not your standard once in a lifetime bucket list experience, but I’ve wanted to visit sunny Tenerife for years now, and I can’t think of a better reason to go than to head over with my best girl pals and enjoy a proper summer holiday! I’m hoping to be able to squeeze in a week away at some point next year, and May-June should be the perfect time for an early summer break so watch this space!
So there we have it, my Top 10 Bucket List items for 2017! There’s an awful lot on there, and I highly doubt that I will tick them all off next year, but as long as I get to do each of them at some point in my life I’ll be a very happy girl! Here’s to another travel filled year ahead, and many more adventures to come!
