Sellers Code of Conduct - What To Expect When Selling

You have travel plans that you can no longer use, they are transferable and you have found TransferTravel.com, but where do you go from there? Maybe you’ve created a listing and have an offer but don’t know what to expect next? We have created this sellers code of conduct to help you in listing, transferring and outlining exactly what to expect at every stage of the selling process.

We are going to outline steps you can take to create your listing successfully, make it as attractive to buyers as possible, what to do when you have an offer on your listing and what to expect when your listing sells.

We have gathered questions from other sellers and taken into account frequently asked questions from both buyers and sellers.

 

Before You Create A Listing - Can I Transfer My Travel To Someone Else?

There are a couple of things you need to check before you create a listing on TransferTravel.com.

Is It Transferable? - Can the name on your booking be changed to someone else either for free or a fee? Is there a secure code you can provide to a buyer so they can use your voucher? Do you have explicit permission to transfer your villa rental or Airbnb? You can find the answers to these questions in the fine print and T&C’s of your booking or simply by reaching out to your travel provider directly either by telephone, email or live chat.

Does My Travel Provider Charge A Fee And What Is It? - Some airlines charge a name change fee when transferring the name of your booking to someone else. We do ask that you include this in your booking to make things as simple and streamlined for the buyer so there are no hidden fees on their end. Holiday providers, vouchers, rail, coaches and festivals rarely have name change fees but it is better to check before than after you sell your listing to ensure your sale goes through with your potential buyer.

 

 

Creating A Successful Listing

What To Include In Your Booking Confirmation: - From your booking confirmation, we need to see your booking confirmation #, dates and times of departure and arrival as well as the full price paid for your listing. We do only accept listings that are paid in full and non-refundable. If you do not provide this we will correspond with you requesting more information. Unfortunately, if we do not gain this information you listing cannot stay on TransferTravel.com.

Photos - Picking The Best Ones: - Picking photos that best represent your listing can be hard. We suggest that you use our photo database with the TransferTravel.con listing process and use destinations and modes of transport when choosing photos. We do ask that you do not add screenshots or uncropped photos.  

Updates From Us - Check Your Emails Regularly: - Our dedicated team approves all listings as soon as possible and may require more information from you to make your listing active. We ask that you check your emails frequently and make any changes to your listing so we can get your listing up as soon as possible.

FAQ: “I’ve Created My Listing And Now I Can’t See It”

This means that your listing is being reviewed by our dedicated customer service team. You will receive an approval or disapproval email (with reasoning as to why) as soon as our team has looked at your listing.

 

Making Your Listing Attractive To Buyers

Pricing: - We suggest at LEAST a 30% discount to your listing. We know that listings that sell have at least a 50% discount. Our intention is not for sellers to make a profit but to offer you an opportunity to help regain some of the money back that you would have otherwise lost out on from your non-refundable travel plans. At the same time, we offer those looking for a break from everyday life the opportunity to purchase a trip they may not have been able to take if it was not for the discounted price.  

Incremental Price Drops: - As it gets closer to the time of the departure of your travel we suggest applying incremental price drops to your listing. We suggest dropping your price by 10% each week that your listing is up. In your last week that your listing is up, if it has not sold we suggest that you discount it to at least 80 - 90%. We want you to get something back from your non-refundable travel plans you can no longer use.

Writing A Title and Description: - We ask that you add as much information as you have to entice a buyer and also be transparent which is important for buyers. You can add things like why they are good flights, do they maximize your time at your destination? Is it a red eye that utilizes your next day at your destination? What is the hotel like? Why did you book it? The more details the better!

Extras - Have you pre-purchased baggage, seats with extra legroom or an in-flight meal? Let buyers know! This is important information for buyers when they are looking at your listing.

 

Accepting or Declining An Offer On Your Listing - What To Expect

Everyone is offered the opportunity to make an offer on listings on TransferTravel.com. We do this to make it a true marketplace where prices are not set, and buyers have the opportunity to find incredible deals. It also helps you sell your listings [add something]  

How Do You Know If You Have An Offer On Your Listing? - You will receive an email notifying you if you have an offer on your listing as well as on your dashboard on TransferTravel.com. From that email, it will link you to offer and you can either accept it or decline.

Accepting An Offer: - If you accept the offer the buyer has 24 hours to complete the purchase. Once that happens you then have 72 hours to upload all the correct documentation for the buyer. From the time of the accepted offer, the buyer then has 7 days to accept all new documents and notify TransferTravel.com that they are happy with the transfer. After the 7 days, the transaction is complete. The funds are held by TranfserTravel.com until 24 hours after the end of the reservation and then released to you the seller. In the case of vouchers, bus and rail tickets the funds are distributed to you the seller within 7 days after the 7 day period has ended and the buyer is satisfied with their purchase.  

Declining An Offer: - If you decline the offer the buyer will be notified and your listing will go back to being live in the TransferTravel.com marketplace. Your listing will stay live on the website even with pending or accepted offers and won’t actually disappear until the status has changed to sold.

 

Transferring Your Travel When Your Listing Sells - What To Expect

Someone Has Purchased Your Listing: - When someone purchases your listing you will receive a notification email as well as a notification on your dashboard.

72 Hour Transfer Period: - If you listing sells you then have 72 hours to upload all the correct documentation for the buyer. From the time of the accepted offer the buyer then has 7 days to accept all new documents and notify TransferTravel.com that they are happy with the transfer. After the 7 days the transaction is complete. The funds are held by TranfserTravel.com until 24 hours after the end of the reservation and then released to you the seller. In the case of vouchers, bus and rail tickets the funds are distributed to you the seller the day after the 7 day period has ended and the buyer is satisfied with their purchase.

7 Day Buyers Guarantee: - From the time of the accepted offer the buyer then has 7 days to accept all new documents and notify TransferTravel.com that they are happy with the transfer. This 7 day period is for you to definitively check that your new travel plans are transferred to you and can be used by you.

When And How Do You (The Seller) Get Paid? - The funds are held by TranfserTravel.com until 24 hours after the end of the reservation. This protects both buyers and sellers. You can either be paid by bank transfer or PayPal.

In the case of vouchers, bus and rail tickets the funds are distributed to you the seller the day after the 7 day period has ended and the buyer is satisfied with their purchase.
